I saw news article about the KAIST student' suicide 4 times in a row. I was wondering why they decided to suicide. It was very surprising new not just for me, maybe for everyone.
Thesedays, KAIST had many tough systems for students. For example, their school expenses were different for each students. The tuition belonged to their GPA exactly. Like someone who did well during last semester, his tuition is little, but someone whose GPA was not good, he had to take more tuition. Also KAIST didn't allow the second chance. If they got bad grade, it will remain forever. There is no second chance for students.
These kinds of strong competition systems were making students not friends just enemies. They felt lonely with lots of concerns and competitons. Now there are many voices to change school system in KAIST. I hope they solve the problem well and become warm-hearted Hall of the Truth.
it's a tough problem.

답글삭제I totally agree with your opinion.
답글삭제It is the really serious problem in Korea.
The society just makes competitions...
Students are not happy about studyning.
It is terrible and old education system.
Sometimes competitions make too much tension. I think den should take his responsible for the suicides. He is just putting of his burden to others.
답글삭제I think it is not just a problem in KAIST. Many students have grievance against the tuition. But they do not commit suicide. KAIST students should be stronger.
답글삭제It's too harsh to live as Korean. I hope it be changed.
